And the winner is - Ganton Man at Shirt Bar Sydney #GantonMan!

Well the winner of the Ganton Man search was ___ ___ who is certainly a very well dressed young man but.. on the night we were all winners as Justin, Adam and Louka; and Ganton Founder Allan all put on a great Sydney event for Ganton, Australian Made for 40 years!!! It was all happening at Shirt Bar tucked away at 7 Sussex Lane behind the Victorian Terraces in Erskine St, under the new(ish) Westpac HQ building. Shirt Bar as you may have already guessed from the name is a shirt store and cafe/bar seamlessly (no-pun) rolled into one. These guys make shirts, coffee and food too but what they are big on is Whisky! As we were being entertained by 3 piece Blues outfit Tequila Twins; yes I know, it's getting confusing.. I was trying out the Australian Starward Malt Whisky, yes Australian and it was so good I had another!

However before too long, and without further ado.. Justin had grabbed the vintage microphone and we were under-way for the big announcement, our four finalists were lined up Allan Bolton, Chris Orr, Julian Kuo and the winner, Joris Cuesta! Instgram @justjorisofficial. Hands were shaking, congratulations given all round the 3 Tequila Twins resumed wailing the blues; and I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

I've seen the future of Summer Fashion & It's Black!

Yes make no mistake, no matter how many colourful outfits and beachy print sun frocks you may see; one evening out in balmy spring weather was enough. I've seen the future of Summer Fashion and It's Black! If you want to look stylish, its going to be black, maybe not all black.. But that's OK blacks always been the key to a stylish wardrobe. That is all.

Electric's Craig Anderson signature sunglasses Txoko Launch at The Old Growler.

Last Thursday night saw the launch of the 'Txoko' surfer dude Craig Anderson signature sunglasses. A bevy good looking guys and gals got together to eat, drink, chat, and even try-on the brand new sunnies from Californian sport and lifestyle brand Electric. Craig was there in person and in good spirit and I even managed to talk him into a quick portrait in the kitchen; scene of my mini Txoko photoshoot (pics below, just scroll down). The sunglasses like the crowd and the food and beverage all seemed pretty top shelf. Thanks to my models from our impromptu shoot, big thanks to Electric and a thank you to The Old Growler, their chef and fabulous staff. What a great launch party. Check out the shots then go find yourself some Craig Anderson Txoko's!

Red Riding Hood meets the Fleet. No Hood!

I love, love, love this dress. I know I have never said anything that biased here on SFS before! But you know I do love this vintage inspired outfit, spotted last night at Roslyn Oxley 9 art gallery in Paddington. Is it a  1940's 'Victory' dress to meet the fleet returning home? All red white and blue, yes I know, American colours; and taking notes at an art show; love your style and we love you too Miss Kingsward. Thank you for letting me grab this beautiful shot. .

Planters Hat, Check Shirt and a Schooner of Beer.

Plantation hat, riverboat gamblers hat or just a wide brimmed Panama, call it what you like this hat and its owner are effortlessly stylish. Perfect for the long days of summer that are rapidly approaching. Spotted in Darlinghurst Sydney; and that  looks like a cloudy Coopers beer too. Nice drop that. Keep it up!

Men's style blogger Mr Haggarty does CANTURI.

And I think Mr Haggarty did CANTURI well on that weekday morning the CANTURI ETERNAL launch was on.. There were Christopher and I again; Men's shower gels and deodorants, tick. Luxury watch brand OMEGA, tick. VFNO tick, though not same place same time.. Fine jewellery, CANTURI; well I should have known, tick! Well I do like seeing Christopher's personal style. Not sure if I would turn up to a fine jewellery launch sans socks; but I love those leopard print shoes; that camo craveat; it really works. I can't wear it now though; I wish I could, but then I'm not the young buck I used to be.. At least I can still wear my Prince of Wales Check suit, we do, also have that in common Christopher.

And in case you missed it dear reader; my CANTURI post is here Passion for Design, Passion for Jewellery, Passion for Craftsmanship, Stefano Canturi. That's Stefano Canturi in focus in the second shot, love it, nice to see three men all turned out in jackets and their own individual style.

Gentlemen of Rock Style - Baby On Board - Film Club Darlinghurst.

OK I won't lie this shot is a set up. But it is only a set up of what I saw less than a minuet earlier after leaving Black Eye Gallery, and strolling back towards Kings Cross. I don't really (much) fancy myself as a Cartier-Bresson! Anyway I walked past, then I walked back, and into Film Club Darlinghurst, introduced myself and said hello to Alex and asked if he would mind recreating where he was as I saw him when I walked past. All good and here's the shot, classic Rock look, now more than ever I think and in particular with the Baby Bjorn(ish). Thank you so much; just remember people really are nice!

Passion for Design, Passion for Jewellery, Passion for Craftsmanship, Stefano Canturi.

"Without passion there is no masterpiece".

When I first met Stefano Canturi we were both standing around in the Pitt Street paddock, Sydney's FashionCBD sipping our complimentary Taittinger Champagne at the launch of VFNO 2011. He and I were waiting for the opening speeches, and while I can't recall exactly how we struck up our first conversation;  I think we quite quickly started talking about quality, creativity and craftsmanship and; hit it off immediately, and I was duly invited me over to CANTURI in Castlereagh Street for gelato and to see Stefano's fine jewellery and designs.

And here we were again, 2014, not for VFNO this time; no I am at CANTURI 80 Castlereagh Street for morning tea and the launch of the all new ETERNAL fine jewellery range. But before we can see ETERNAL, there is a surprise for all of us, the new Canturi High Jewel, a mesmerizing necklace, inspired by the ancient Greek Goddess of the Rainbow, "Iris" by Stefano Canturi, 18ct white gold, diamonds, tanzanite, garnet, rubellite; a flagship piece four years in it's creation. Concept, design, the hunting and collecting, the matching of the jewels to create such a piece. Stefano is all over it! The way each piece of the necklace looks and moves has been engineered by him, its a living piece and I love how this piece is full of the colours of life.

Hands of the designer, Stefano Canturi shows the sapphire clasp, Eternal jewellery - Canturi Photographed by Kent Johnson.
You know Stefano is not only an artist but also an engineer at heart when, as artists and engineers do he talks more (to me) about the safety clasp he created that integrates into the design.. he knows the bracelet is beautiful, how could it be otherwise. But Stefano also knows, and no one seems to know this.. he has created a great safety catch too so you NEVER loose your CANTURI bracelet, well not while you are wearing it! Now that is all about heart, heart for his creation, heart for you and heart for your ETERNAL bracelet, that special personal item. My mum loves this kind of attention to detail and I. do. too. thank you very much; unseen, great design, just the beauty of the piece, quietly on show.

I love visiting CANTURI and seeing the beautiful fine jewellery designs and I love having been fortunate enough to have spent extended time speaking personally with Stefano who clearly does not simply say, he loves coming to work every day, he lives through his designs and the craftsmanship of himself and his team.

"Without passion there is no masterpiece". This is what Stefano says and I do believe its true.
